6 Days Zanzibar Holiday Excursion — Culture, Wildlife & White-Sand Beaches

Zanzibar Airport Arrival & Stone Town Orientation. Your guide or driver meets you at Zanzibar International Airport or the Stone Town ferry terminal and transfers you to your accommodation. After settling in, the afternoon begins with a Stone Town guided walking tour through the medina's narrow coral-stone alleyways, taking in the Old Arab Fort, the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum, and the Slave Market & Christ Church Cathedral site, where the history of the East African slave trade is told with unflinching honesty.

The tour ends at Darajani Market — spices, tropical fruit, fresh fish, and Stone Town's daily commerce — before returning to your accommodation. Your guide's dinner recommendation: the Forodhani Gardens night food market on the waterfront, for fresh Zanzibar seafood, sugar cane juice, and the evening dhow harbour at its best.

Morning — Jozani Forest Red Colobus Monkey Tour. Drive south to Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park — Zanzibar's only national park and the last significant remnant of the island's ancient indigenous forest. The Zanzibar red colobus monkey, found nowhere else on earth, inhabits the forest in habituated troops that approach remarkably close on the guided trail, and your guide explains the conservation success story that brought the colobus back from near-extinction, along with the forest's endemic plants and mangrove boardwalk ecosystem.

Afternoon — Prison Island Excursion. Boat transfer from Stone Town harbour to Changuu Island — known as Prison Island for its historical use as a quarantine station and an intended (but never used) slave prison. Its most famous residents today are the Aldabra giant tortoises, some over 100 years old with ages confirmed by British colonial records; you walk among them freely, feed them by hand, and snorkel the clear water off the island's coral reef before returning to Stone Town in the late afternoon.

Days 4, 5 & 6 — Zanzibar Beach Time. Three days of complete freedom on Zanzibar's white-coral sand beaches at your chosen beach hotel.
