These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made with Generous African Tours and Safaris ("we," "us," "our"), whether made through our website, WhatsApp, email, or in person. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and all travelers included in your booking.
A booking is confirmed once we receive a deposit (typically a percentage of the total trip cost, as agreed at the time of booking) along with any documentation required for permits. The remaining balance is due before the trip start date, as specified in your booking confirmation. Prices quoted are subject to change until a deposit has been received and the booking is confirmed in writing.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing. As a general guide, cancellation charges typically increase the closer the cancellation is to the departure date — for example, a partial charge for cancellations well in advance, rising to a higher percentage for cancellations within a few weeks of departure, and full forfeiture for late cancellations or no-shows. Exact cancellation terms, including specific day thresholds and percentages, will be confirmed in writing at the time of booking, since these can vary by package, season, and supplier commitments (e.g. park permits and lodge deposits are often non-refundable once paid on your behalf).
Weather, park regulations, road conditions, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our control may require changes to your itinerary. Where this happens, we will make reasonable efforts to offer a substitute of similar standard and value. We are not liable for costs arising from changes made for safety or regulatory reasons.
Kilimanjaro treks, safaris, and other activities we offer involve physical exertion and, for high-altitude climbs, a risk of altitude-related illness. You are responsible for disclosing any relevant medical conditions before travel and for ensuring you are reasonably fit for your chosen trip. We strongly require all travelers to carry comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical treatment, and emergency evacuation, including helicopter evacuation where applicable for high-altitude climbs.
You are responsible for holding a valid passport (typically with at least six months' remaining validity), obtaining any required visas, and meeting any vaccination or health entry requirements for the countries on your itinerary (such as yellow fever vaccination requirements, where applicable). We assist with arranging national park and climbing permits on your behalf, but final entry decisions rest with the relevant immigration or park authorities.
Mountain trekking, safari game drives, and other adventure activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to altitude illness, wildlife encounters, and variable terrain and weather. We engage licensed guides and maintain our equipment to reasonable standards, but we are not liable for injury, illness, loss, delay, or damage arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including weather, political instability, wildlife behavior, or other events of force majeure.
Travelers agree to follow the reasonable instructions of guides and crew for safety and compliance with park regulations, and to treat guides, crew, wildlife, and local communities with respect — including following park rules on littering, noise, and wildlife interaction.
Photographs or videos taken by our guides or staff during your trip may be used for marketing purposes, such as on our website or social media, unless you notify us in writing before your trip that you do not wish to be included.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes arising from your booking or trip will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tanzania, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
