1 Day Tanzania Safari | Experience the Best of Tanzania.

6:30 AM – Arusha Hotel Pickup. Your guide collects you in the morning in a 4x4 safari vehicle. The route heads south out of Arusha, past coffee farms and Maasai homesteads, toward the open plains of Tarangire.

6:30 AM – 8:30 AM – Road to Tarangire National Park. The drive crosses rolling farmland before the landscape opens into dry acacia woodland and baobab-studded plains. As you approach the park gate, the terrain shifts noticeably — this is elephant country, and the giant baobab trees start appearing along the roadside.

8:30 AM – Tarangire National Park — Park Entry. You enter through the main gate while your guide handles registration. Impala and warthog are often visible grazing near the entrance, and the pop-top roof hatch opens as you head into the park.

8:30 AM – 11:30 AM – Tarangire River Circuit Game Drive. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, which gather in big numbers along the Tarangire River, especially in the dry season. Your guide navigates the riverine circuit, checking the ancient baobabs for tree-climbing pythons and scanning the grasslands for lion prides resting in the shade. Giraffe, zebra, and wildebeest move through the open woodland, and the park's dense birdlife — including hornbills and bee-eaters — is on constant display.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM – Drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Leaving Tarangire, the route continues toward the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The landscape changes again as you approach Lake Manyara, with the dry acacia plains giving way to lush groundwater forest.

12:30 PM – Bush Picnic Lunch. Your guide stops at a scenic picnic spot near Lake Manyara, where lunch is served from the cool box, often with views over the rift valley or the edge of the forest.

1:30 PM – 4:00 PM – Lake Manyara Game Drive. Inside the park, the groundwater forest gives way to open grassland and the shores of Lake Manyara itself. This park is best known for its tree-climbing lions, and your guide checks the acacia canopy along the way. Large pods of hippo gather in the lake's shallow pools, while flamingos and pelicans line the shoreline in season. Troops of baboon and blue monkey are common along the forest trails, alongside elephant and buffalo.

4:00 PM – 4:30 PM – Final Wildlife Check. A last drive along the lake shore and forest edge before park exit, often the best time to spot elephant herds heading toward the water for an evening drink.

4:30 PM – 6:30 PM – Return to Arusha. Exit Lake Manyara National Park and begin the drive back along the rift valley escarpment toward Arusha. Hotel drop-off by 6:30 – 7:00 PM.
