Generous African Tours and Safaris didn't start with a business plan — it started with a backpack. Grenus G. Majumba began his career on Kilimanjaro as a porter, carrying gear for other people's dreams before he had the chance to guide his own clients toward the summit.

Porter work is physically demanding and often invisible — long days, heavy loads, little recognition. But it gave Grenus something few tour operators ever get: a ground-level understanding of the mountain, the routes, the weather patterns, and the crews who make every successful climb possible.

That experience became the foundation for a guiding career, and eventually, for a company. Generous African Tours and Safaris was founded to bring that same field-tested knowledge to a wider range of East African travel — from Kilimanjaro's slopes to the plains of the Serengeti, the beaches of Zanzibar, and the highlands of Rwanda and Uganda.

As the company has grown, one thing hasn't changed: our roots are still with the porters, guides, and local crews who carry every trip on their backs — literally and figuratively. Supporting them isn't an afterthought; it's where we came from.
