3 Days Tanzania Sharing Safari - Overview
Three days on Tanzania's northern circuit — shared with fellow travellers, guided by an expert, and priced to be accessible without compromise on the wildlife experience. Our 3 Days Tanzania Sharing Safari covers three of the northern circuit's finest parks in a compact, efficient itinerary: Tarangire National Park with its extraordinary elephant herds and baobab landscape, the Ngorongoro Crater with its resident Big Five and endemic lion prides, and Lake Manyara National Park with its tree-climbing lions and flamingo shore. Three parks, three days, and a group of strangers who share something remarkable by the time the vehicle returns to Arusha.
This itinerary is the shortest sharing safari available from Arusha that covers three distinct park ecosystems. It is designed specifically for travellers with a tight schedule — those spending a few days in Arusha before or after a Kilimanjaro trek, combining Tanzania with a Zanzibar beach extension, or simply wanting to experience genuine East African wildlife on a 3-day budget. The itinerary wastes nothing — every park is given proper game drive time, every morning starts early to maximise wildlife activity, and every hour inside the parks is guided with professional expertise.
The group joining format means you pay a shared per-person cost that makes this itinerary significantly more affordable than the equivalent private 3-day safari. You travel in a fully equipped private 4x4 Land Cruiser with a pop-top roof hatch, a TANAPA-certified guide, and a maximum of 6 guests — small enough to be intimate, social enough to be memorable.

3 Days Tanzania Sharing Safari - Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
6:30 AM – Group Pickup & Drive to Tarangire. The group assembles from their respective Arusha hotels for introductions and a route briefing before driving south through the Maasai steppe to Tarangire National Park. Entry in time for a full afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River circuit — elephant herds of 200 to 300 animals moving in slow, dusty processions through the ancient baobab woodland, lion prides in the riverine shade, leopards on rocky outcrops above the river, and over 550 bird species filling every tree. Your guide covers the open baobab woodland circuits where greater kudu, gerenuk, fringe-eared oryx, and giraffe make Tarangire's antelope diversity unique on the northern circuit. Bush picnic lunch served inside the park at a shaded riverside site — the group's first shared bush meal. Transfer to your first night's camp or lodge as the baobab trees turn gold in the fading afternoon light.
Full Ngorongoro Crater Descent
6:30 AM – Early Breakfast & Crater Descent. The group drives to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area through the highland forest, ascending to the crater rim in the early morning light. The rim viewpoint — the entire caldera spreading 600 metres below in a perfect ancient circle — is a moment the group experiences together before beginning the steep descent track. On the crater floor, 25,000 large animals occupy a 260 km² enclosed ecosystem in permanent, year-round residence. Your guide works the morning circuits methodically — lion prides active in the open grassland, elephant bulls crossing the woodland, hippos in the Mandela Pool, flamingos at Lake Magadi, and the slow, deliberate tracking of the crater's black rhino population — fewer than 30 individuals, one of Africa's rarest and most extraordinary wildlife sightings. A crater-floor bush picnic lunch is served surrounded by wildlife before the afternoon circuit covers the Lerai Forest and Ngoitokitok Spring waterhole. Late afternoon ascent and overnight on or near the crater rim.
Lake Manyara National Park & Return to Arusha
7:30 AM – Lake Manyara Morning Game Drive. The group's final safari morning begins with descent from the Ngorongoro highlands to Lake Manyara National Park — a compact, extraordinarily diverse park wedged between the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the alkaline lake shore. Entry through the main gate plunges you immediately into the groundwater forest — a cool, dense world of ancient fig trees where baboon troops cross the track, blue monkeys move through the canopy, and elephant families shelter in the forest shade. Your guide scans every horizontal branch of every sausage tree and acacia for tree-climbing lions — one of the rarest wildlife behaviours in Africa and Manyara's most celebrated signature. The forest opens to the alkaline lake shore where flamingo flocks of extraordinary size colour the water pink and pelicans, storks, and spoonbills work the shallows. A final picnic lunch inside the park before the group returns to Arusha for hotel drop-off by early afternoon — three days of shared Tanzania wildlife experience arriving at its natural, unhurried end.
