Ideal for adventure seekers and experienced trekkers, this route takes you through lush rainforests, moorlands, alpine deserts, and glaciers leading to the iconic Uhuru Peak—the Roof of Africa.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. Meet your professional mountain guide for a detailed briefing, gear check, and preparation for the adventure ahead.
After registration at Londorossi Gate (2,200 m), begin your trek through a dense rainforest filled with colobus monkeys and tropical birds. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,785 m) for dinner and overnight stay. (Hiking time: 3–4 hours)
Ascend gradually through the forest and emerge into the moorland zone. Enjoy panoramic views of the Shira Ridge and surrounding valleys. Camp overnight at Shira 1 (3,500 m). (Hiking time: 6–7 hours)
Continue across the expansive Shira Plateau, one of the most scenic areas on the mountain. Explore ancient lava formations and alpine flowers while acclimatizing to the higher altitude. Overnight at Shira 2 Camp (3,850 m).
