8 Days Lemosho Route Kilimanjaro Hiking Itinerary
Day 1: Londorossi Gate (2,100m) to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,820m)
Your premium Kilimanjaro adventure begins with a drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate for registration. After completing park formalities, continue to the Lemosho trailhead where your trek officially starts through the lush rainforest.
The trail passes through dense forest rich with wildlife, including black-and-white colobus monkeys and exotic bird species. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big Tree Camp) for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp (3,505m)

This important acclimatization day follows the "climb high, sleep low" principle. Trek through alpine desert terrain toward Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp.
The route provides stunning views of giant senecios, volcanic rock formations, and Kilimanjaro's southern glaciers while helping your body adapt to the altitude.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,035m)
Begin the day by climbing the famous Barranco Wall, one of the most exciting sections of the Lemosho Route. Although steep in appearance, the climb is non-technical and achievable for most trekkers.
Continue through valleys and ridges before arriving at Karanga Camp where you can rest and enjoy incredible mountain scenery.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,640m)
Today's trek takes you to Barafu Camp, the final base camp before your summit attempt. The landscape becomes increasingly rugged as you move through the alpine desert zone.
After arriving at camp, enjoy an early dinner and rest before the midnight departure for Uhuru Peak.
Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Mweka Camp (3,100m)
Shortly after midnight, begin your summit ascent under the stars. Reach Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
Witness an unforgettable sunrise from the Roof of Africa before descending via Barafu Camp and continuing to Mweka Camp for overnight accommodation.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640m)
After breakfast, descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive your official summit certificate and celebrate your successful Kilimanjaro climb.
