This 7-day wildlife and cultural safari offers a unique chance to combine thrilling game drives with immersive visits to traditional Maasai and Hadzabe communities. Over one week, you will explore diverse ecosystems, witness the Great Migration (seasonal), and learn about the indigenous tribes’ way of life. From the vast savannahs of the Serengeti to the volcanic highlands of Ngorongoro, this journey provides a comprehensive experience of Tanzania’s natural and cultural treasures.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where your safari guide will welcome you. Drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and baobab trees. Enjoy an afternoon game drive spotting lions, giraffes, zebras, and various bird species. Overnight at a lodge or tented camp near Tarangire.
Spend the morning exploring Tarangire’s unique ecosystem. In the afternoon, visit a nearby Maasai village. Learn about Maasai customs, traditional dress, dance, and their pastoral lifestyle. Participate in cultural activities such as beadwork or fire making. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and flamingo populations. Enjoy a game drive with chances to spot elephants, hippos, baboons, and colorful birds. Later, transfer to a camp near the park or en route to Serengeti. Overnight stay.
Depart early for the Serengeti, Tanzania’s largest and most famous national park. En route, enjoy scenic views of the Ngorongoro Highlands. Arrive in Serengeti for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive in the vast plains, spotting predators, herbivores, and possibly migrating wildebeests and zebras. Overnight at a tented camp or lodge in the Serengeti.
Spend a full day in the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. Explore different areas of the park, including the Seronera Valley, known for its high concentration of lions and leopards. Take a picnic lunch out in the bush and enjoy the breathtaking wildlife spectacle. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Depart Serengeti and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, visit the Hadzabe tribe, one of Africa’s last hunter-gatherer peoples. Learn about their ancient hunting techniques, traditional tools, and lifestyle that is closely connected to the environment. Continue to Ngorongoro for overnight stay at a lodge overlooking the crater rim.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater early morning for a half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to an incredible density of wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, lions, hippos, and buffalo. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater. In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha for your transfer to the airport or onward destination.
