Ideal for wildlife enthusiasts and first-time visitors, this itinerary ensures you witness the Big Five and breathtaking landscapes. Accommodation options range from luxury lodges to budget-friendly campsites, and every detail is curated for comfort, safety, and maximum wildlife exposure.
You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) by your safari representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. After check-in, enjoy a welcome drink, relax from your flight, and receive a full safari briefing. Depending on arrival time, you can take a short city tour or visit a local market. Dinner and overnight at Tulia Boutique Hotel or Mount Meru Hotel.
After breakfast, you begin your journey to Tarangire National Park, known for its high concentration of elephants and dramatic baobab trees. Your game drive includes sightings of wildebeest, lions, giraffes, impalas, and colorful birdlife. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch inside the park and continue exploring until late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge, offering views over the park boundary.
Today you travel to Lake Manyara National Park, a lush green paradise nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley wall. The park is home to baboon troops, hippos, elephants, and the rare tree-climbing lions. Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled by thousands of flamingos along the lake. Enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic site and an afternoon game drive before heading to Karatu. Overnight at Marera Valley Lodge or similar in the Ngorongoro Highlands.
After an early breakfast, drive through the highlands and into the world-famous Serengeti National Park. You’ll stop at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint for a photo opportunity before continuing to Naabi Hill Gate, where you’ll enter Serengeti. Game viewing begins en route as you spot cheetahs, hyenas, and elephants. Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in time for dinner and relaxation. Overnight at Embalakai Tented Camp or Serengeti Tortilis Camp in Seronera.
A full day in the Serengeti allows you to explore its rich wildlife ecosystem. Depending on the season, you may witness massive herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles migrating across the plains. Your expert guide will help you locate predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Visit areas like Moru Kopjes or the Retima Hippo Pool. Enjoy a picnic lunch under an acacia tree and return to camp as the sun sets. Overnight at the same lodge.
After breakfast, enjoy a sunrise game drive in central Serengeti before heading toward Ngorongoro. On the way, visit a traditional Maasai village (optional, at extra cost) to learn about their customs and lifestyle. You’ll continue your drive to the crater rim and check in at your lodge overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater. Dinner and overnight at Rhino Lodge or Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge.
Today is a highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder and one of the best places to spot the endangered black rhino. The crater also hosts elephants, hippos, lions, jackals, flamingos, and numerous antelope species. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok Spring beside a hippo pool. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
