This 7-day private guided safari in Serengeti takes you through Tanzania’s most iconic wilderness areas with a dedicated driver-guide and a custom 4x4 vehicle. You’ll explore the vast plains of the Serengeti, track the Big Five, witness the Great Migration (seasonal), and immerse yourself in the wonders of Ngorongoro Crater. This itinerary is tailored for those seeking an exclusive and comfortable wildlife experience with flexible pacing and personalized service.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your private guide will meet you and transfer you to your lodge in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the lodge or explore the local market. Dinner and overnight at a boutique lodge or hotel in Arusha.
After breakfast, drive towards Lake Manyara or Tarangire National Park, depending on the season and wildlife movement. Tarangire is renowned for its elephant herds and towering baobab trees, while Lake Manyara is famous for tree-climbing lions and flamingos. Enjoy a full-day game drive followed by an overnight stay at a lodge near the park.
After breakfast, head toward Serengeti National Park. Pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying spectacular landscapes along the way. You may stop at a Maasai village for a cultural interaction. Enter the Serengeti in the afternoon and enjoy your first game drive en route to your tented lodge. Overnight in Central Serengeti.
Spend the entire day exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti. This area is rich in wildlife all year round—home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and a variety of plains game. Break for a picnic lunch under an acacia tree or near a hippo pool. Return to your camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Depending on the time of year, you’ll drive north (June–October) or south (December–March) to follow the Great Migration. Witness thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles on their incredible journey, possibly crossing rivers with crocodiles lurking beneath. Enjoy thrilling wildlife encounters and return to your mobile camp or permanent lodge for the night.
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti. Then, begin your journey toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim in the afternoon. From here, you may catch breathtaking views of the caldera. Dinner and overnight on the crater rim.
Early morning descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater floor is home to an astonishing variety of animals including black rhinos, lions, buffaloes, zebras, and flamingos. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo lake. Later, drive back to Arusha or proceed to Kilimanjaro Airport for your outbound flight.
The Serengeti offers amazing wildlife year-round, but June to October is great for general game viewing and river crossings. December to March is best for calving season in the Southern Serengeti.
