Your safari adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your Arusha hotel. After a short briefing, you’ll drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees and large herds of elephants. The Tarangire River attracts wildlife throughout the year, making it a prime spot for game viewing. Late in the afternoon, you’ll drive to your lodge near Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, you’ll head to Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful park nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and flocks of flamingos along the lake shore. Enjoy a game drive through the lush groundwater forest, open grassy floodplains, and hot springs. You’ll have a picnic lunch in the park and continue exploring in the afternoon before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Today, you’ll depart after an early breakfast and drive towards Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, you can stop at viewpoints overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater for some scenic photographs. As you enter Serengeti, game viewing begins immediately with an en-route game drive towards your tented camp. Depending on the season, you may witness large herds of wildebeest and zebra migrating across the plains. The Serengeti is also home to predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. You’ll arrive at your camp in the central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.
Spend the entire day exploring the vast plains of Serengeti. Early morning and late afternoon game drives increase your chances of spotting predators in action. The central Serengeti (Seronera area) is rich with wildlife year-round due to the Seronera River, attracting various animals even during the dry season. Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at extra cost. After a packed lunch in the bush, you’ll continue game viewing, tracking the movement of the Great Migration (season dependent). Dinner and overnight at your tented camp.
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a morning game drive in Serengeti as you slowly make your way towards Ngorongoro. You’ll stop at the Olduvai Gorge (optional), an important archaeological site. Arrive at your lodge located on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater in the afternoon. The lodge offers breathtaking views of the crater floor. Relax and enjoy the sunset as you prepare for the next day’s crater tour.
After an early breakfast, you’ll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater floor is teeming with wildlife, including the rare black rhino, prides of lions, elephants, hippos, zebras, and a variety of bird species. The crater’s enclosed ecosystem offers one of the best opportunities to see the Big Five in a single game drive. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the Hippo Pool before ascending back to the crater rim. In the afternoon, you’ll drive back to Arusha, where the safari concludes.
