Depart Arusha after your morning briefing and drive southwest to Tarangire. Arriving before midday allows a full afternoon game drive along the iconic Tarangire River, where dry-season elephant concentrations are extraordinary — hundreds often visible from a single viewpoint.
Beyond elephants, expect large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, lions, leopards, and African wild dogs amid Tarangire's striking baobab-dotted landscape.
After breakfast, drive north through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying spectacular highland scenery and panoramic crater views. Arrive in the Serengeti in the afternoon for your first game drive in the famous Seronera Valley.
