generoustours43@gmail.com Experience a 4-day Tanzania safari exploring Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy close wildlife encounters, stunning landscapes, and expert-guided game drives in top Northern Circuit parks.
This 4-day Northern Circuit safari introduces you to three iconic parks: Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobabs; Lake Manyara, home to diverse birdlife and tree-climbing lions; and the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with Africa’s densest population of wildlife. This itinerary is ideal for travelers with limited time but looking to witness dramatic landscapes, diverse wildlife, and professional guiding over a compact adventure.
Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your Arusha hotel or airport. After a short safari briefing, you’ll depart for Tarangire National Park, approximately 2–3 hours away. As you enter the park, the scenery quickly changes into a wildlife-rich savannah, dotted with ancient baobab trees and seasonal swamps. This park is renowned for its large elephant herds and scenic views of the Tarangire River. You'll embark on a full-day game drive, seeking out lions, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and possibly leopards and cheetahs. Enjoy a packed lunch at a designated picnic site within the park and continue exploring in the afternoon before exiting the park and heading to your lodge near Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, you’ll enter Lake Manyara National Park, a lush ecosystem at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Despite its small size, the park is rich in wildlife and well-known for its rare tree-climbing lions, huge troops of baboons, hippos, and flamingos lining the lake’s edge. Bird lovers will especially enjoy spotting over 400 species of birds, including pelicans, cormorants, storks, and spoonbills. Enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives, with a hot lunch served at your lodge. In the late afternoon, you’ll exit the park and proceed to the Karatu area, just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, for dinner and overnight.
Today is a highlight of your safari: a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the “Eden of Africa.” After an early breakfast, you’ll drive to the crater rim and descend 600 meters into the caldera for a full-day game drive. The crater floor offers the highest concentration of animals in Africa, including elephants, buffaloes, hippos, lions, hyenas, and if you’re lucky, a black rhino. The ecosystem is self-contained, featuring lakes, forests, grasslands, and swamps. You'll have a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool picnic site and continue your drive across the crater floor until late afternoon. Afterwards, ascend back up the crater and return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and rest.
After breakfast and a leisurely morning, begin your drive back to Arusha with scenic views along the way. You may stop at local curio shops for souvenirs or optional cultural tours if time allows. Arrive in Arusha by early afternoon, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
