After lunch at the lodge or mobile camp, embark on an afternoon game drive during golden hour – ideal for capturing predators as they become active. Focus on lions, elephants, and herds near watering holes.
Photographic Tip: Use long lenses to isolate subjects against the golden plains and backlight to capture silhouettes.
Dinner and overnight at a photographic safari lodge/camp.
Early morning wake-up to catch the first light of day. With packed breakfast, depart for an extended full-day game drive focused on big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards in the Seronera Valley. This region is rich in acacia trees and rivers—perfect for stalking and hunting scenes.
Pause for lunch at a designated picnic area under the shade. During the afternoon, explore watering holes for elephants, giraffes, hippos, and numerous bird species such as lilac-breasted rollers and secretary birds.
Photographic Tip: Adjust ISO and shutter speed for action shots; always anticipate predator movement when herds are present.
Return to camp at sunset for photo reviews and camera maintenance.
Optional early morning hot air balloon safari for a unique aerial photographic perspective of the Serengeti plains and wildlife below. Post-balloon champagne breakfast, return to camp to rest and recharge your camera gear.
After lunch, head out for a scenic afternoon drive toward rock kopjes (ideal for lion photography). Capture hyenas, jackals, and vultures as scavengers come to life.
End the day with a sundowner setup on a ridge—perfect for photographing African sunsets.
Photographic Tip: Use foreground silhouettes like acacia trees or wildlife shapes to add drama to sunset compositions.
Enjoy your final morning in the Serengeti with a short sunrise game drive, focusing on early activity near rivers and open plains. Take final shots of giraffes in misty light or herds moving against the horizon.
Return to camp for breakfast, then transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. Upon arrival, optional day room or direct transfer to your next destination or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Photographic Tip: Review images while flying; note lessons learned and highlight shots to process later.
