generoustours43@gmail.com Experience the ultimate 4-day Serengeti flying safari from Zanzibar. Includes flights, luxury accommodation, game drives, and Big Five sightings in the heart of the Serengeti.
Escape the beach for the bush with this exciting 4-day Serengeti flying safari from Zanzibar. Perfect for travelers short on time, this tour combines the tropical bliss of Zanzibar with the raw wilderness of the Serengeti. Fly directly into the heart of the national park and enjoy seamless transitions from palm-fringed shores to vast savannahs. You'll witness thrilling wildlife moments on daily game drives, spend nights in luxury lodges or tented camps, and return to Zanzibar with unforgettable memories. From the Great Migration (seasonal) to the Big Five, this safari is crafted to maximize your experience in a short amount of time.
After an early breakfast in Zanzibar, transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport for your scheduled flight to the Serengeti. The scenic flight takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, offering breathtaking aerial views of the Tanzanian landscape, including the Great Rift Valley and crater highlands.
Upon arrival at the Serengeti airstrip (usually Seronera for Central or Kogatende for Northern Serengeti), your safari guide will welcome you with a 4x4 private vehicle. You'll immediately start your first game drive en route to your luxury lodge or tented camp. This area is rich in wildlife, so expect to encounter giraffes, elephants, prides of lions, and possibly leopards within the first few hours.
Enjoy lunch at the lodge and embark on an afternoon game drive until sunset. Return to camp for dinner and a night in the wild under the stars.
Wake up early with coffee or tea before heading out for a sunrise game drive. Mornings are the best time to witness predators in action before the sun heats up the plains. After several hours of exploring, return for a hearty bush breakfast.
Mid-morning offers leisure time or an optional walking safari (if staying in a camp that offers it). After lunch, take a short break before heading back into the park for another game drive. Depending on the season, you might track the wildebeest migration, visit a hippo pool, or follow cheetahs as they scout the grasslands.
Your guide will tailor the day based on current wildlife activity. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, zebras, gazelles, and potentially rare species like servals and caracals. Return at dusk to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Today offers flexibility for either another full-day game drive or two half-day drives with a midday rest. If you're in the Northern Serengeti (July to October), you may be near the Mara River, where dramatic river crossings occur. Crocodiles, hippos, and dust-filled wildebeest stampedes make this an unforgettable sight.
Optional excursions include a visit to a traditional Maasai village or a sunrise hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti plains (available at an additional cost and must be pre-booked). These experiences provide a cultural and scenic perspective to complement your wildlife adventure.
Enjoy a bush dinner or sundowner drinks if your lodge offers them.
Enjoy one last early morning game drive to capture the sunrise and say goodbye to the wild. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar.
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel or continue with your beach holiday. The tour ends with unforgettable memories of both beach and bush.
This safari is available year-round. However, for the Great Migration, visit from July to October in the Northern Serengeti, or from December to March in the Southern plains for calving season.
Pack light-colored clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, camera, binoculars, insect repellent, and comfortable walking shoes. Warm layers are recommended for early morning drives.
